Now it is possible to file bankruptcy in Wyoming and Montana without traveling to the federal courthouse, driving to your attorney's office or even leaving the comfort of your home. Everything can be done with your phone and computer, but we still give our clients the option to meet with us face-to-face and shake our hand (COVID-19 permitting) in one of our three offices located in Powell WY, Bozeman MT, and Billings MT.FIRST: Contact our office to schedule a 30 minute free, no pressure, telephone consultation with an attorney.
SECOND: Pay at least $500 of our fee.
THIRD: Take the online Credit Counseling Course, answer our questionnaire, and submit the documents we request.
FOURTH: Review and sign your bankruptcy forms before we file them with the court.
FIFTH: Take the online Financial Management Course and gather a few additional documents.
SIXTH: Attend a short video conference meeting with your bankruptcy trustee (not a judge), your attorney and any creditors that wish to appear (most creditors will not appear).
FINALLY: If you filed a Chapter 13 bankruptcy you will continue to make your plan payments. If you filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, upon request of the bankruptcy trustee, you will turn over all non-exempt property and money you owned at the time of filing.
